ooh I took some French in high school.
Salut Violette! ?a Va aujourd'hui?
Has she taken you to a small french bistro yet? I highly suggest the crepes... yummy to my tummy!
You should also try watching a french flick... Violette can enjoy the native tongue while you chill to subtitles... Tres Bien!
Je suis un pamplemousse! (Forgive my spelling, but the meaning will spark some giggles from Violette)
Bonjour Violette!

Actually the dolls make me learn a lot of American history and customs and got me very interested in it.
A shame Violette didn't tell you about the Galette des Rois, a traditional cake eaten on Epiphany (6 January) in France, you could have all enjoyed it last Friday. I can't remember who found the f?ve when I had it in France.
Oh Miki, I never heard of that one! sigh. Oh well, I've been much too busy to make a mini celebration this year. But I'm definitely going to check into the Feast of Epiphany more and find out more of France's traditions, especially with the children. Thanks for that link!
Julia

Salut, Violette! Enchantee! J'adore le francais!! Tu as vue le film, Amelie? J'adore Amelie! C'est R, mais tres, tres bien!!
*I know there are accents, but I'm not too familiar with my laptop yet to know how to do them!! But anyway, yes, I do get interested in histoire because of my dolls. I'm very obsessed with all European culture, particularly the French. My future AGoT 25 will be a French girl...and I so cannot wait to get her! I want her a lot more than Jess!*
Au revoir, toutes les gens!!
Julia, what a fabulous idea! I LOVE everything French--I went to France for 3 weeks with my parents when I was 12 and have been fascinated ever since.
Recently, Elizabeth FINALLY told me her story. (I had such a hard time connecting with her.) When I was younger and only had Felicity, I pretended Felicity lived in the present and went to a school where they focused on colonial studies and customs. They would wear colonial clothes, but this way Felicity could enjoy modern-day clothes and activities too.
Elizabeth told me that she goes to this school with Felicity, but is leaving to go with her parents on an around-the-world trip. (She finally told me this information after finding the travel diaries on the AG website.) Her father is a food critic and her mother is a freelance journalist, so they've been asked to write a book about restaurants in cities all over the world. Elizabeth is traveling with them, and Paris and Singapore are their first two stops!
As a result, of course, now I want to go back to Paris, and want to learn more about Singapore too!

Hmm...very interesting topic! My mother gave me AG 25 for Christmas, and I've decided she is half Italian and has spent most of her life at a performing arts school in Florence. However, she was recently kicked out of her school for being a troublemaker (which is why she now lives with me... ) One of her many offenses was that she held a weekly poker tournament in her dorm room where she won massive amounts of money, clothes, CD's, etc. from her classmates. After coming up with all of this, I'm more inspired to learn about playing poker than I am to learn about Italy.
